Is an endemic variety, annual, distributed in the central provinces of Chile, preferably in dry and sandy enclaves. It is a low plant, with ligulate or marginal yellow flowers. It is used as an ornamental.

Resists occasional, not prolonged frosts down to about -5°c.
Secano areas, where the dry period without rainfall lasts 6 to 10 months. Rainfall reaches 100 to 300 mm per year, concentrated in winter.
