Description

It is a small evergreen tree that grows in the temperate forests of Chile and Argentina. This species grows in a great diversity of environments, from the Maule region to Magallanes. It is cultivated as an ornamental plant.

Areas with constant rainfall, short dry periods are possible but do not last more than 1 month, or also in secano, where the period without rainfall lasts 3-5 months, reaching 400-800 mm per year, concentrated in winter.
